The heart of one of the world’s richest regions, Dubai is a dynamic and rapidly expanding hub of tourism and business. The city offers traditional Arabic hospitality coupled with a world standard service industry. Its luxury hotels and resorts, beautiful beaches, wide selection of water sports and exciting desert safaris attract visitors from around the world.
The city is also a renowned shopping destination hosting the world’s only yearly shopping festival, and is home to some of the largest and most luxurious malls in the world. It also hosts many international sporting events such as the world’s richest horse race - the Dubai World Cup, the Dubai Tennis Championship and the Dubai Desert Classic.
A huge fleet of metered taxis provide a popular and inexpensive way to get around the city. Hiring a car is also easy, as most car hire companies accept European and international driving licences. In addition, a fast growing public bus system covers the entire city and many hotels provide regular shuttles buses that follow set routes.
Dubai’s low crime rate and liberal stance makes it one of the safest places in the world to visit – even for women travelling alone.
